  • UTOTES - Using The Outdoors to Teach Experiential Science.

    Endeavor was one of three NC schools to participate this year with the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science's award winning UTOTES program that helps teachers use nature as a classroom.

    Fourth graders helped install the mini-pond and the natural vegetation that will grow in the pond.

  • ECS News - April 22, 2016

    It has been a creative week at Endeavor Charter School!

    • 4th graders researched the rhyme scheme in a variety of poems.  This helps them find patterns in poems.
    • 1st graders are publishing their small moment stories in writing.  They are so excited to bring them home and share them with their families!
    • 6th graders are starting their drama unit.  Students will be working to complete their tic-tac-toe project while participating in reading class.
    • Math 8 students transformed figures on a coordinate plane to find relationships in translations and reflections of images.
    • 2nd graders began working in pairs on an animal research project. They will take their findings and write an informational book on their animals. They are off to a great start!
    • 5th graders used K'nex manipulatives in science and created cars to test fore concepts.
    • Kindergarteners learned from a special visitor all about vermicomposting (work composting).  They learned how to set up a compost bin, what to feed the worms, and how the worm castings help our gardens.  We even got our own worm bin!  Thank you to Harris Ribbens' grandma for educating us!
    • 3rd graders began learning about personal narratives and started brainstorming their own using mentor texts to guide them.
    • 7th graders played Geography Bump to practice recognizing the continents which are home to certain countries, animals, and famous athletes.
    • In Fine Arts we mourned the loss of Prince - the ARTIST formerly known as Prince.
     
     - Help give the gift of sight! A 2013 ECS graduate is collecting prescription glasses/sunglasses to distribute those in need in Costa Rica.  A collection box is located in the lobby! Contact juliahgermano@gmail.com with questions.

    PAWS News

    • CULTURAL ARTS PRESENTS~The PAWS Cultural Arts Committee and the United Arts Council are thrilled to bring Hobey Ford to Endeavor on Thursday April 28th.  His show, Animailia will be presented to all K-4 students followed by a puppetry workshop for all of 4th grade.  Be sure to ask your child about this exciting event!
    • LATE YEARBOOK ORDERS~ Still need to order a yearbook? We are accepting late orders while supplies last and will be on a first come first serve basis. Only a few books left and they are available at $30. Order forms are available in the front office. Once all books have been sold, we cannot guarantee any additional copies can be ordered so reserve your copy as soon as possible.
    • LAST CALL FOR CLASS PICTURES~ Last day to order a Class Picture  will be Friday, April 29th.  Please drop your envelope with $10 payment in the picture box located by the front office.  
    • SCHOOLA SUCCESS~ Thank you to everyone who sent in Schoola Clothing Donations and to all of the 5th Graders, Teachers and Parent Volunteers who worked hard to make the drive a success! We shipped 72 BOXES to Schoola & can't wait to see how far that launches our rising sixth graders to SPACE CAMP!
    • PAWS CELEBRATES OUR PASSIVE FUNDRAISING TEAM~ The month of April is dedicated to celebrating our Passive Fundraising team and recognizing their efforts in turning our trash, donations, clothing & box tops into CASH for our school.  A special thanks to Crystal Johnson and Shannon Eddlemen for their involvement in bringing the Terracycle program to ECS and a big shout out to Colleen Icenhower for overseeing all of our passive fundraising efforts as our PAWS Vice President.  WE LOVE FREE MONEY!!!
