  • ECS News

It has been a week of discovery at Endeavor Charter School.
    • Fourth graders fixed grammatical "patients."  The surgeries were successful!
    • While learning about 2D shapes, kindergarteners manipulated pattern blocks to make turkeys.
    • 8th grade students got a close up look at DNA when they isolated it out of strawberries.
    • 2nd graders traveled to Duke University where they solved a mystery using chemistry with Professor Ken.
    • In reading, 5th grade students made historical fiction dioramas to review motive, theme, and plot.
    • First graders imagined they were Pilgrims landing on Plymouth Rock.  They searched the forest for supplies Pilgrims would have used when they arrived in the "New World."
    • In art, third graders learned about the parts of a leaf and used oil pastels to create warm color leaves with cool color backgrounds.
    • Sixth grade math students are knock outs!  They played the highly-competitive and super-engaging math game "knock out" and are begging for more!
    • Third graders met and had a Q & A session with Senator Chad Barefoot.  It was a great way to wrap up their government unit.
    • 8th graders had the privilege to hear Abe Piasek, Holocaust survivor, speak about his life before, during, and after the Holocaust.  They learned about his time in Auschwitz Concentration Camp and all that he endured.
*The weekly update will return after our Thanksgiving holiday.
