Assistant Director / Curriculum Coordinator

Endeavor Charter School, a public charter school located in Wake Forest, North Carolina, serves 513 students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade. The school’s mission is to nurture and inspire motivated students to push themselves beyond the ordinary and into the extraordinary by providing a challenging curriculum that enhances traditional education with experiential opportunities. Endeavor Charter School is seeking an inspired new Assistant Director who shares our core values and mission of education.

The Assistant Director serves as an administrator of Endeavor Charter School. Working with the Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for the effective day-to-day operations of Endeavor Charter School regarding the general administration of instruction, staffing, facilities, and other operational aspects of Endeavor Charter School. The Assistant Director shall perform all duties in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes, Department of Public Instruction regulations, and the policies and procedures established in conjunction with the ECS Board of Directors to ensure adherence to the Charter and mission of Endeavor Charter School.

The Assistant Director also serves as the Language Arts and Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator for the K-8 program. The LA/SS Curriculum Coordinator serves as the visionary for those departments working to ensure a strong K-8 program including support for all ELA and SS teachers through co-teaching, demonstration teaching, and small group support as needed. .  This CC works in conjunction with the Math/Science CC and Director to plan professional development and whole school initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring a safe school environment
  • Supervising, with the Director, school personnel
  • Ensuring that all financial and regulatory reporting standards are met
  • Providing strategic leadership to promote school achievement and progress
  • Representing Endeavor Charter School within the school community and to a broader audience
  • Ensuring growth in personal and school-wide professional development


  • Graduate Degree
  • Demonstrated successful leadership in an assistant administrative position in a public or private school
  • Ability to work with the Director to create and execute a strategic vision for the school as well as help with day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Experience developing curriculum across grades K-8 in a variety of subjects, most particularly in language arts and social studies
  • Demonstrated successful teaching experience 


  • Masters in School Administration
  • Experience working with students and programming at the middle-school (grades 6-8) level
  • Exhibited administrative school leadership working with staff, students and the community
  • Experience with an experiential, “learn-by-doing” teaching philosophy
  • Commitment to the academic goals and philosophy of Endeavor Charter School
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success in encouraging an inclusive parent, staff and student population
