Who we are ?
Endeavor is a charter school. Charter schools provide parents a choice in the education of their children - and it is a public choice. Charters have open enrollment with no discrimination, no religious association, and no tuition. N.C charter schools are open to students living in any county in North Carolina. Endeavor currently services students from Wake, Durham, Granville and Franklin Counties.
On July 28, 2008, Endeavor Charter School celebrated its first school day with a red carpet opening for 376 students in the original North Raleigh location. In June of 2014, Endeavor moved to its permanent home on twenty-nine acres of land in Wake Forest. Endeavor currently serves 513 students in grades K-8. There are 19 students per class, and we operate on a modified year-round schedule.
Every charter school's obligation to the state is to provide a unique learning experience. Endeavor seeks to provide a rigorous academic program enhanced by a rich fine arts program. In addition, we value our familial environment, hands-on learning, public speaking, and opportunities to serve others.
Academically, Endeavor is one of the highest performing schools in N.C. For the 2014-2015 school year, Endeavor received an A+ grade from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, which placed Endeavor among the top 3% schools in the state.
How our funding works?
Public tax dollars are the primary funding source for charter schools. Most local, state, and federal dollars follow the child to a charter school, but not all. Legislation passed in N.C in 2010, allows public school systems to keep a portion of the money owed to a charter school. Since 2010, charter school have operated with less per/pupil funds that a traditional public school. Charter schools are already at a funding deficit because they must pay for their buildings while traditional public schools are provided a free facility. The extra funds that every charter school needs to make up for these lost dollars must come from internal budget cuts or come from outside resources.
Endeavor’s future is bright with a stable student population, stable teaching staff and a track record of academic excellence. With the help of our sponsors and partners, in the future, we hope to be able to expand our cultural performance and athletic venues, continue to provide our students with cutting edge educational tools, and expand our staff in order to better serve our students’ needs.
What we are looking for in a potential sponsor/partner?
Endeavor is looking for sponsors/partners who value the importance of education and the academic growth of their future work force. We are also looking for sponsors/partners who are dedicated to the future and growth of Wake County and the Wake Forest area where our students will grow and prosper. Lastly, we are looking for sponsors/partners that will help (financially or with service) Endeavor continue our educational philosophy of “We Learn By Doing”.
