• Positions available for the CURRENT 2020-2021 school year:
    Lunch Supervisors
    Endeavor Charter School is seeking two lunch supervisors. These adults will work together to supervise two classrooms as students eat lunch. Each class will be expected to follow the same rules:
    • Students remain seated at all times.
    • Students will only remove masks while eating.
    • No speaking will be allowed while masks are off.
    • The silent period will last a minimum of 10 minutes of the 30 minute lunch period after which any student who has finished eating may replace his/her mask and speak with nearby students.
    • Trash will be returned to lunchboxes and may not be placed in class trashcans.
    The lunch supervisor will primarily remain in the classroom doorway to maintain a safe distance from students. The lunch supervisors will be needed from 10:15 to 1:45 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from February 18-March 26. The positions will be Monday through Friday from April 13 through June 10 during those same hours. The hourly pay rate will be $8.63-$11.25 depending on the person’s experience.

    Endeavor Charter School, in Wake Forest, NC is a K-8 public charter school.  Our unique charter focuses, stable staff and student populations, small class size, and devoted community have helped us rank among the highest performing schools in the state.  Endeavor is expanding our facility, enrollment, and staff beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.  We seek passionate, knowledgeable staff members ready to join a high achieving staff and a familial environment.     Kindergarten: seeking one teacher: The kindergarten teacher will lead a self-contained class with a full time teaching assistant working in conjunction with the other three kindergarten teams.

    First Grade: seeking two teachers: The first grade teacher will lead a self-contained class with a 50% teaching assistant working in conjunction with the other three first grade teams.

    Second Grade: seeking one reading and writing teacher: The second grade will be organized into two teams of two full-time teachers with one reading and writing teacher and one math and science/social studies teacher on each team.

    Fifth Grade: seeking one science teacher: The fifth grade will be departmentalized with four full-time subject area specialists (ELA, math, science, and social studies), each will teach at least one writing unit per year with students rotating through the four classes.

    Sixth Grade, Seventh grade, and Eighth grade:  Seeking reading, writing/communications, science, and social studies teachers at various middle school grades
    The middle school grades will each be departmentalized with five full-time subject area specialists (reading, writing/communication, math, science, and social studies) and will be located in the new middle school.

    STEAM: seeking one STEAM teacher: This full-time teacher will serve every grade level K-5 at some point during the year.  The amount of time students participate in each course will vary by grade. The teacher will also teach grade 6 and grade 7-8 electives each semester and will be located downstairs in the new middle school.  This teacher will be part of the carpool staff.

    Exceptional Children’s Teacher: seeking one middle school EC teacher: The three full-time special education teachers will primarily serve students within a grade level cluster in a push-in model.  EC teachers will coordinate with classroom teachers to support instruction while meeting IEP goals.  EC teachers will manage the referral and placement process. The two elementary school EC teachers will have a room in the current building. The middle school EC teacher will serve students in the Scholastic Empowerment elective as well as within core classes and will be located upstairs in the new middle school.

    Guidance Counselor: seeking one guidance counselor: The full-time guidance counselor will oversee the free and reduced lunch program in conjunction with the school Social Worker. He/She will also oversee the Positivity Project program, provide social-emotional support as needed to individuals or classes, and provide weekly guidance classes to students in grades K-5.  He/She will be located in a classroom in the current building. This teacher will be part of the carpool staff.

    General Teaching Expectations

    The classroom teacher, in collaboration with a grade level team, will create a nurturing and familial classroom community.  Within that setting the teacher will provide hands-on, experiential learning opportunities which will support students while helping them reach their highest potential.
    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • teaching assigned subject areas to students of varying ability levels utilizing hands-on, experiential methods

    • collaborating with the grade level and subject area teams

    • working productively with special education and student support staff

    • developing effective lesson plans and instructional materials

    • establishing classroom processes and procedures which teach independence, responsibility, and respect

    • using both formative and summative assessment strategies (including the state adopted reading assessment tool as appropriate) to evaluate students’ academic growth

    • communicating effectively and proactively with parents 

    • performing other duties as needed

    Basic Qualifications Required:

    • Currently NC certified

    • Experience with grade/subject area of interest

    • Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of specific content, literacy, technology

    • Knowledge of assessment strategies 

    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    • Effective interpersonal skills
