About Mrs. Tyler

  • Welcome 8th graders! I am eager to begin my fourth year at Endeavor as your 8th grade math teacher, even though we will be starting off virtually. I know our current situation is not ideal for you, but I will make EVERY effort to be just as supportive online as I would be in-person.

So, a little about me... My family and I have only lived in the Wake Forest/Raleigh area for four years now, but I have twelve years of experience teaching 8th grade all the way up to adults in both math and science. I have lived in many places throughout my life, as my dad served in the U.S. Navy, and there a few places I call "home". I received my Bachelors of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. I'm a die-hard Tigers and New Orleans Saints fan... Geaux tigers and Who Dat!

I am looking forward to guiding you through either Math 8 or Math 1, and hope that as the year progresses, you will learn to see the importance of a strong foundation in this subject area, no matter what you have planned for your life. I also anticipate that I will prepare you very well for high school and your future math courses, because I've taught Algebra 2 and Geometry more than any other subject.

When I’m not at the school, I am enjoying quality time with my husband and two daughters (you may know one of them...). We love to hang out at our neighborhood pool, find new places to explore, and have a new appreciation for just relaxing at home with our two dogs (Rocco & Wally). I'm a big fan of all types of music, and I love pop-culture trivia, so feel free to introduce me to new artists or ask me trivia questions!
