Middle School Math
The middle school math program continues to expand upon the challenging, hands-on, concept-based approach to mathematics that is built in elementary school. Students continue to grapple with and expand their knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts and relationships in word problems. Students will grow their skills in algebra, geometry, functions, and statistics as they apply to real-world problems and skills.
In middle school, the grade level classes are Core Math 6, Core Math 7, and Core Math 8. In recognition of the fact that students develop academically and learn at different paces, ECS also offers compacted math classes: Compacted 6/7, Compacted 7/8, and NC Math I and II. Both NC Math I and II are high school-level courses
